SpaceX wrapped up its launch activities for February 2026 with a trio of successful Starlink missions this week, a routine feat for the company. The first launch occurred on Tuesday, February 24th, from Cape Canaveral, Florida, placing 29 satellites into orbit. A second Falcon 9 followed on Wednesday from Vandenberg, California, carrying 25 more units.
The week concluded with a third launch on Friday, February 27th, from Cape Canaveral, which added another 29 satellites to the growing megaconstellation. All three missions successfully deployed their payloads into the intended low Earth orbit.
In each flight, the Falcon 9's first stage successfully returned to Earth, landing on autonomous drone ships in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. These landings marked milestone reflights for the boosters involved.
The 83 new satellites bring the total number of operational Starlink units in orbit to over 9,850, according to satellite trackers. The Starlink network provides broadband internet to remote areas and supports services like cellular backhaul and in-flight WiFi.
Friday's launch was SpaceX's 25th Falcon 9 mission of the year 2026.
