Xiaomi has introduced its latest Android tablets, the Xiaomi Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro, emphasizing high performance, AI capabilities, and "PC-level" productivity to challenge iPads and laptops.
The flagship Pad 8 Pro is powered by the 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, boasting an 81% CPU and 103% GPU performance increase over its predecessor. The standard Pad 8 uses the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, with a 32% faster CPU and 67% faster GPU.
Both models feature an 11.2-inch 3.2K LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos. They house a 9,200mAh battery in a slim chassis, with the Pro supporting 67W charging versus 45W on the standard model.
Running HyperOS 3 on Android 16, the tablets offer enhanced multitasking, a Workstation Mode, and desktop-style browsing. They integrate Xiaomi's HyperAI features like AI Writing and AI Art, alongside standard Gemini AI tools.
The Pad 8 Pro starts at £529. An updated Focus Keyboard and new Focus Pen Pro stylus are also available. The tablets will launch in the UK, Europe, and Australia, with US availability pending.
