The Pokémon Company has officially announced Pokémon Wind and Waves as Generation 10, launching in 2027 for the Nintendo Switch 2. The reveal concluded a February Pokémon Presents with a three-minute look at the tropical setting, gameplay, and the three new starter Pokémon.
The new starters are the Water-type Gecqua, Fire-type Pombon, and Grass-type Browt. Their reveal has already sparked lively debates online. The game's environment features vast oceans, sandy beaches, dense jungles, and hints of underwater exploration, marking a visual step up from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
The presentation also introduced two special Pikachu named Mr. Windychu and Ms. Wavychu, which will play a role in the story. Official art for the new trainers and these Pikachu was shared. The event also announced Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness for Switch Online and the April release of Pokémon Champions on Switch and mobile.
