Samsung's executive Won-Joon Choi revealed in an interview that the company is taking a temporary step back from the Galaxy S25 Edge and the Galaxy Z TriFold projects. The decision follows disappointing sales performance of the S25 Edge, which fell well below market expectations.

Choi confirmed that the S Pen stylus will remain a key feature for future Galaxy S Ultra phones. Samsung is developing more advanced technology for the S Pen to reduce the "penalty"—likely referring to the device thickness—associated with integrating it.

The Galaxy S25 Edge, marketed as Samsung's thinnest phone, faced criticism for compromises like a smaller battery. Meanwhile, the complex TriFold project presented significant engineering challenges. Samsung will now focus evaluation on its core book-style foldable line and enhancing the S Pen experience.
