The release date for the long-awaited Blackout-inspired battle royale mode in Call of Duty: Warzone has been confirmed. Titled Black Ops Royale, this free mode launches with Season 02 Reloaded but goes live specifically on Thursday, March 12, at 9 PM PT.

Black Ops Royale fundamentally changes the Warzone formula by removing loadouts, buy stations, and the Gulag. Instead, players must scavenge for gear and weapons on the new Avalon map, utilizing a wingsuit for traversal and a flexible Perks system. The mode is designed for 24 squads competing for victory.

This update marks one of the most significant shifts for Warzone, aiming to recapture the spirit of the original Blackout experience from Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. The mode is accessible to all Warzone players and does not require ownership of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
