A New Chapter for DREADMOOR

The developers at Dream Dock, in partnership with Digital Vortex Entertainment, have officially announced that the debut public demo for their atmospheric first-person fishing adventure, DREADMOOR, will arrive on Steam for PC on Tuesday, October 6. The announcement was made via a brand-new trailer showcased during the Secret Sauce event.

While this release serves as a preview rather than the full game, it represents the most comprehensive look at the title to date. The game has already garnered significant attention, currently ranking among the top 150 most wishlisted titles on Steam. Interest in the project spiked following a successful public playtest, which highlighted the game's unique day/night cycle and intense nocturnal encounters with tentacled threats.

Survival in the Submerged Lands

In DREADMOOR, players navigate the Submerged Lands—a desolate, cursed environment shaped by a past catastrophe. Operating a weathered vessel, your goal is to survive by fishing in dangerous waters. The gameplay involves scouting prime locations to hook mutated creatures, ranging from small, aggressive fish to massive predators that offer a significant challenge.

The core gameplay loop goes beyond traditional fishing simulators. According to the game's mechanics, players must:

  • Sell their daily catch to acquire better fishing gear.
  • Dissect specific fish to harvest rare organs, which serve as ingredients for high-level lures.
  • Scavenge for scrap and wreckage to reinforce and upgrade their boat.
  • Visit the bait shop, a unique structure perched above the water on massive crab legs.

The upcoming demo will feature extensive language support, ensuring accessibility for a worldwide audience. Players will be able to experience the game in thirteen languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
