The features will debut on devices like the Samsung Galaxy S26 and Google Pixel 10, marking a major expansion of Android's ecosystem this year.
The core upgrade involves Gemini, Google's AI assistant, which can now execute complex, multi-step tasks entirely in the background. Available in beta in the U.S. and Korea, users can delegate activities like ordering a ride or building a grocery cart with a single command. Gemini handles the task within the relevant app, allowing users to continue using their phone uninterrupted.
Circle to Search, the screen-based gesture tool, is receiving a substantial enhancement. Its capabilities are expanding from identifying isolated items to understanding entire outfits and looks, recognizing clothing, shoes, and accessories in one gesture. This makes the feature far more useful for shopping and visual discovery.
Google is also strengthening user safety with enhanced Scam Detection, powered by the on-device Gemini model. Previously limited to Google's apps, this feature now arrives in the Samsung Phone app on Galaxy S26 devices in the U.S. It listens for suspicious conversational patterns, like urgent money requests, and issues real-time warnings. Google Messages is also getting improved scam detection for texts.
