Sony has removed dozens of PS5 and PS4 games and banned their developers from the PlayStation Store following numerous player complaints. The crackdown targeted scam developers who created convincing clones of popular titles and used misleading listings to trick users into purchases.

Community trackers have compiled lists of the banned games and developers. Some players who purchased these titles may face permanent issues, as trophy data for certain games failed to sync with PlayStation Network servers.

Among the banned is developer Md Adnan Hossain, responsible for notorious scams including a convincing clone of 'Black Myth: Wukong'. The purge also included a number of adult-oriented games that had drawn criticism for their content.

While this action is a positive step, it highlights the need for Sony to implement stronger pre-submission filters to prevent such fraudulent content from appearing on the storefront in the first place.
