How to Enable the New Feature
To benefit from the performance improvements, users should ensure their systems are up to date. You can check for the update by navigating to Settings > Windows Update and selecting 'Check for updates'. Once the installation is complete and the system restarts, the LLP operates automatically in the background without requiring manual configuration.
The Mechanics of Speed Optimization
According to Microsoft, the technology works by briefly boosting the CPU's clock speed when specific interaction triggers are detected. The official documentation states that the feature
“accelerates app launch and core shell experiences such as Start menu, Search, and Action Center.”
To maintain thermal efficiency and preserve battery life, particularly in laptops, the processor returns to its standard power state immediately after the task is executed. While high-end machines might see less dramatic improvements, users with mid-range or aging hardware are likely to experience a more noticeable 'snappiness' when opening core Windows components.

Real-world testing reveals that the CPU clock speeds fluctuate by 100 MHz to 500 MHz during interactions, depending on the system architecture. However, it is important to note that this optimization is focused on the operating system's shell and lightweight applications. The LLP does not significantly impact heavy software, such as modern AAA video games, which remain constrained by data handling processes rather than CPU burst speeds.
