Lenovo is reportedly developing a bold new concept for its Legion Go handheld console series: a device with a foldable screen that transforms into a Windows tablet. This move aims to shake up the popular portable gaming market by offering a hybrid that functions both as a compact handheld and a larger-screen PC-style device.
According to leaks, the Legion Go Fold Concept will feature an 11.6-inch foldable pOLED display that expands from a 7.7-inch compact mode. It is expected to debut at a major tech event in Barcelona. The design enables multiple use modes: a standard handheld mode with detachable controllers, a vertical split-screen mode for gaming and multitasking, a horizontal full-screen tablet mode, and an expanded desktop mode when paired with a wireless keyboard.
Under the hood, the concept is said to be powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor with integrated Xe2 graphics, 32GB of RAM, and a 48Wh battery. While the larger screen may challenge battery life, it promises a more immersive experience than typical handhelds.
The vision of a convertible handheld-PC hybrid is compelling, offering gaming versatility without external monitors. However, this remains a concept, with a commercial release likely one to two years away.
