Saber Interactive's Continued Support
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has proven to be more than just a successful linear action title; it has established itself as a robust multiplayer experience. The game consistently records over 21,000 concurrent players, outperforming several major multiplayer releases from the past year. This longevity is largely attributed to the developer's aggressive update strategy, which mirrors the content release schedule of a dedicated live-service title.
Updates and New Content
The latest patch, 13.0, introduces a variety of additions, including a new mission for Operations mode titled “Purgation.” In this mission, players are tasked with retaking a Mechanicus facility within the Kadaku swamps. Additionally, developers have integrated a combat simulator for practice, the convenience of swapping perk loadouts mid-session, and increased customization capabilities.
Siege Mode 2.0: A Significant Overhaul
The most substantial changes arrive for the game's horde-based Siege mode. This “major revamp” introduces several key features:
- Blessings and Atonements: Players receive new perks every five waves, coupled with unique gameplay modifiers.
- Increased Challenge: The difficulty curve has been adjusted, with powerful new boss encounters appearing every five waves.
Saber Interactive stated that the primary objective for this update is to ensure sessions feel “quicker and more intense” while providing players with deeper build-crafting mechanics to increase replayability. It should be noted that due to these mechanical shifts, save files will have their completed wave counts reset.
Special Offer and Free Trial
To coincide with these updates, Saber is offering a free trial version of Space Marine 2, granting access to two campaign missions, three operations, and the complete range of PvP modes. For those looking to jump into the full experience, the title is currently available with a 70% discount, bringing the price down to $18 (£16.50). This promotional offer is valid through June 3.
