Advanced Surveillance for Your Entrance

Apple has officially unveiled the LG Video Doorbell Wired, a sophisticated smart home security device developed through a strategic partnership with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. This new hardware is a core component of the expanded Apple Home Collection, following recent industry leaks regarding the collaboration.

Dual-Lens Technology and Performance

The device stands out with its dual-camera setup, designed to provide comprehensive coverage of your doorstep. Users can toggle between a front-facing lens, which records in crisp 2.5K resolution, and a downward-facing lens capturing Full HD footage, ensuring that both visitors and package deliveries are clearly monitored. The doorbell also incorporates an integrated spotlight and a smart chime that broadcasts alerts directly through HomeView, HomePod, or HomePod mini.

Seamless Apple Ecosystem Integration

Focusing on user convenience, the doorbell offers a streamlined setup process. It can be configured with a single tap using an iPhone, eliminating the need for third-party applications or additional accounts. Integration with the Apple Home app enables a range of features, including:

  • Real-time video streaming.
  • Instant notifications triggered by doorbell activity.
  • Two-way communication with visitors via Apple devices.
  • Unified control: When paired with the LG Smart Deadbolt Lock, users can verify identities and unlock doors simultaneously via the app or through voice commands to Siri.

Privacy and Intelligent Storage

Security remains a priority for the new product line. All video data is encrypted end-to-end, ensuring that neither Apple, LG Electronics, nor Schneider Electric can access private recordings. For those subscribed to a compatible iCloud+ plan, the device stores up to 10 days of event history. Furthermore, the system utilizes Apple Intelligence to generate automatic descriptions of recorded video, allowing users to search through their footage using natural language queries.

Availability and Pricing

The LG Video Doorbell Wired is set to hit the UK market in December. It will be available for purchase through Apple’s official website and retail locations, with pricing starting at £229.95.
