A New Challenger in the FPS Genre

For gamers who find contemporary shooters overly polished or lacking in surprise, the upcoming title Everything is Gun! offers a refreshing, albeit chaotic, alternative. Announced by the Sofia-based development team at Incineration Productions, this new roguelike FPS aims to fuse the rapid-fire, high-intensity movement characteristic of 90s classics with the deep, unpredictable progression systems seen in titles like The Binding of Isaac.

Setting and Gameplay Dynamics

The game is currently slated for a Steam release in late 2027. Set on the hostile prison planet A1-KTRZ, the narrative puts players in the shoes of a reluctant contestant forced to compete in a brutal galactic reality show. Rather than offering linear or scripted challenges, the game utilizes procedural generation to ensure that environments shift and reorganize after each death, forcing players to abandon rote memorization in favor of adaptability.

Redefining Player Progression

According to co-founder Yuriy Popov, Everything is Gun! was conceived as a direct response to the industry's trend toward "safe" shooter design. The developers aim to revitalize the skill-based, fast-paced nature of retro FPS titles while layering in modern roguelike mechanics.

«Instead of small boosts, upgrades will radically transform your weapons and abilities. One run might involve you having one specific build when the next has you rocking a completely different one,» explains the development team.

Innovative Multiplayer Mechanics

The game also introduces a unique social component to its difficulty. Successful runs by players can be converted into "Ghost Bosses." These are AI-controlled threats that incorporate the specific movement patterns of other players, allowing them to effectively "invade" and challenge others during their own sessions.

With its emphasis on extreme speed, high difficulty, and a commitment to keeping players on their toes, Everything is Gun! appears poised to challenge the status quo of the first-person shooter genre.
