Publisher Electronic Arts has announced that online services for NHL 22 and NHL 23 will be permanently shut down on August 31, 2026. This affects all platforms, including PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. Both games have already been removed from digital storefronts like the PS Store, meaning this shutdown impacts only existing owners or those with physical copies.
With the server closure, several in-game trophies and achievements, including the Platinum trophy, will become permanently unobtainable. Some reports indicate certain trophies are already broken, potentially preventing new players from completing the sets entirely. EA is not expected to release further fixes for these titles.
The games' delisting has also led to display errors on some store pages, where NHL 23 appears as "free" but is not actually purchasable, a remnant that platform holders are slowly cleaning up.
